Global electric vehicle leader BYD is now represented in Azerbaijan by SARDA Group
One of the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturers, BYD (Build Your Dreams), has established its official representation in Azerbaijan. The company has designated “EV SARDA” as its official partner in the country. This decision is not only a new collaboration but is also regarded as the beginning of an electric vehicle revolution in the Azerbaijani automotive market.
The official representative “EV SARDA” is part of “SARDA Group”. For many years, SARDA Group has been successfully operating in various sectors in both Azerbaijan and the region. The group of companies led by Rauf Khalilov has been the first official dealer of the BYD brand in Azerbaijan since 2011.
The company’s interest in the automotive and transportation sector goes beyond passenger cars. Since last year, SARDA Group has been importing modern buses into Azerbaijan. This year marks an even greater milestone, with SARDA Group set to launch local production of advanced electric buses in Azerbaijan in multiple sizes (12m, 10m, and 8.7m). All these models are electric buses. This initiative carries strategic importance for modernizing public transport and strengthening domestic production in the country.
Currently, BYD is a global leader in the electric vehicle market: one out of every three EVs sold worldwide belongs to this brand. Entering the Azerbaijani market will lead to two key outcomes:
1. Accessibility of EVs – local buyers will have access to a wider range of models at more competitive prices.
2. A vision for a green future – the spread of alternative transportation will be encouraged in line with Azerbaijan’s energy strategy.
Within the framework of this partnership, the development of EV infrastructure in Azerbaijan – charging stations, service centers, and technical support systems – will accelerate in the coming years. BYD’s decision to entrust its official representation in Azerbaijan to EV SARDA, along with SARDA Group’s steps in car and bus manufacturing, marks the beginning of a new era in the country’s transportation sector.
