The opening of the new Albalılıq Electric Bus Depot
On March 5, the opening of the new Albalılıq Electric Bus Depot, covering an area of 4.3 hectares and meeting the most modern standards, took place.
As part of the project, 150 fully electric BYD buses locally manufactured at Azerbaijan Energy Automotive Factory (AEAF) have been introduced into passenger service. Forty-eight buses have a capacity of 77 passengers, while 102 buses can accommodate 81 passengers. The new-generation buses will connect the settlements of Mardakan, Shuvelan, Bilgah, Buzovna, Gala, Mashtaga, Ramana, and Nardaran, as well as the village of Mammadli, with the Koroglu Transport Hub.
To ensure the uninterrupted operation of the buses, 42 high-power charging stations provided by Electrify Azerbaijan were also installed at the depot. As an official representative of the BYD brand, the company will also be responsible for providing maintenance and daily service for the buses at the depot.
The opening of the new bus depot is an important step within the framework of the State Program approved by President Ilham Aliyev to improve the quality of public transport in Baku, promote environmental sustainability, and support the development of urban mobility.
